Holmes Beverly, her first project under the banner of Barnat Development LLC has been awarded the local and National CREW Networking award and the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation’s Excellence in Community Development Award.
Prior to founding Barnat Development LLC in 2015, Ms. Barnat was Executive Director of the Urban Land Institute Boston/New England District Council (2013-2015). She provided leadership for ULI’s 1200+ local members representing the region’s leading developers, owners, investors, architects, engineers, attorneys and consultants. The viral sensation “Living with Water” ULI report was viewed over 2 million times and raised the awareness of the real estate industry’s creative approaches to addressing sea level rise.
Ms. Barnat served as Vice President of Development for National Development (2011-2013) and Senior Project Manager for Trinity Financial, Inc. (2002-2011). Ms. Barnat received a Bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a Master’s of Business Administration in Public and Non-Profit Management from Boston University. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Massachusetts and an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
Richard O’Dwyer has served as the Director of Design and Construction for Barnat Development since 2016. He has overseen the bidding and construction of Holmes Beverly, a $22 million, 67-unit project, and the first undertaken by Barnat Development LLC.
Richard served as Senior Principal and Partner at ICON architecture for thirty years. Richard has extensive experience designing and managing many kinds of projects, including large, multi-phase housing projects, mixed-use developments and preservation/reuse projects. His calm demeanor and acute listening ability are essential tools in his ability to resolve prickly situations and address clients and contractor relationships to the satisfaction of all parties. Richard is enthusiastic about Passive House technology and participated in the ground-breaking “the Distillery” project in South Boston.
He is a graduate of NE London Polytechnic.
Elyse Weatherup first joined Barnat Development in 2015 as the company launched. Elyse rejoined the firm in 2019 to provide direct property management at Holmes Beverly and supports Barnat Development’s marketing efforts for new projects.
She has ten years of extensive hospitality and facility management experience. Elyse’s warm disposition and willingness to solve any problem endear her to residents and clients.
Elyse attended the University of Massachusetts Boston.
